Shimano Deore M555 & Shimano NEXAVE C900/901 Sintered Brake Pads -
These sintered brake pads are a metallic compound providing better performance in wet conditions and working more efficiently at higher temperatures than Organic pads, making them ideal for UK downhill with steep tracks and frequent rain. Sintered brake pads will suit heavier riders as they wear down less quickly however the trade-off is they take longer to break in.

These organic compound brake pads are made from fibres which are bonded using, and are more suitable for XC riding where braking is less frequent and lighter than downhill racing. Organic pads (AKA Resin Pads) will break in more quickly than the sintered brake pads and will offer more initial bite. These pads do not dissipate heat as well as sintered pads and can cause your rotors to heat up more quickly under heavy braking, but are ideal for lighter riders. Organic pads tend to be the quietest compound available.
